#rug hooking #muffled laugh #wip #artists on tumblr #squints #honestly the difficult part is over( aka the cat) so that's good #I say speedrunning but it's in two weeksish #but it's kinda big? hgnng I want it to be an actual rug but since it's not pure wool idk how durable it would be #in the long run #which again I still wanna make a big rug for my room #so I can stomp around on it/test it out haha #being able to use the malabrigo chunky green yarn is very satisfying #also bless you chunky yarn which is making the progress go a lot faster haha #I drew a failed pattern on the other side of the backing and the fingertips on my left hand #look super bruised but it's just the marker rubbing off mhjfg #still like this style the most I think (the blended color type? like with the sea otter haha or the horse one #or like there's a big mix of textures/yarn size #coelacanth is fun but I think I got a little too nitpicky with it #lmao all my breaks between work have either been coral island or rug hooking #sort of related but there was a yarn shop I went to maybe 2 years ago?#and there was a yarn I bought there that I'm finally using up more and it's literally the softest/fluffiest yarn ever :'D #need to dig through my labels to see which brand it was #sorry to all the people who decided to open tags and got slammed with a wall of text/ramblings LMAO #edit: rip the yarn brand's actually been discontinued since 2018 hAHA

I posted this a couple years back, but after coming across it today, I wanted to share it again!

Meet Fable (they/them), the fourth sibling of the Able family! They like to cosplay and build amazing props. When Sable makes new dress up outfits, it's often with Fable in mind. Label taught them how to do makeup. And Mabel is their biggest fan!

Fable travels often to make appearances at cons, so they aren't able to stop by the island as often as they'd like. But when all the Ables get together, everyone in the neighborhood throws a costume party!

I still haven't figured out HOW exactly they'll meet yet, but I do think that Ford would ATTACH himself to Stanley and talk his ears off forever when they eventually get comfortable :] and Stanley would listen because HOLY SHIT, THAT'S HIS BRO HE HASN'T SEEN FOR 40-ISH YEARS, HE MISSED HIS VOICE. Stanley looks dead faced because of his ingrained poker face, but he's thouroughly enjoying it, even if sometimes he has no idea what the fuck Ford is saying. He never interrupts him though, since he knows people usually ignore or interrupt him mid-talk already. So sometimes Stan gets stuck in awkward situations where he has to leave or do stuff, but also doesn't have it in his heart to stop Ford and extract himself out of a (one-sided) conversation.

#Stanley: that motherfucker just ignored you completely- would you like me to kill him.#Stanford: Who? What are you talking about? Anyways. Have you ever seen gnomes before? Because just yesterday I-#I imagine conversations with Stanford to be very stitled and all over the place.#Since his thoughts are quite literally scattered- he can never really process them fast enough to actually verbalize them.#Or even understand them.#So he often only catch the tail ends of a thought- or cutoff half formed thoughts- or only the beginning half of an idea- memory- or opinio #And when he talks- you can really tell with the amount of tangents he goes off into and how everything he says #are completely disconnected and unrelated from one another.#I think the reason he talks so much is because it's his way of desperately trying to get himself understood by someone- including himself.#He's hoping that maybe- by verbalizing EVERYTHING in his mind all at once into some incomprehensible word vomit- that someday-#those senseless- useless words will one day magically order themselves into the right sentence for him to be finally be able to say what #he actually MEANS.#But because he's ''that crazy Town Kook Ford'' he just never really gets the chance to talk to anyone.#People in town baby him- treat him like a child.#And I mean- it must really hurt. For someone of his former intellect to have lost all ability to express himself eloquently #Not because he's any less smart- but because he just can't talk anymore. At least- not in any way that matters #I think Stanley understands him though. Darius watched this kid get indoctrinated, he wasn't able to stop the genocide, he didn't defeat Belos, and he never got revenge or answers. If you have all these morals, and your identity is tied to them, but you fail to see them through, who are you? Darius's legacy might have been as a villain who tore Hunter's family apart, or the Isles (and his friends, like Eda) might have seen him as a monster who stood by Belos. Darius couldn't afford to care about what people thought of him, even the people he loves, if it meant doing something. I think Darius did a lot of small things. Even if you can only save one life, you still saved a whole person.

After years of playing the game and being defined by other people, I think both of them need to find their identities again.
